There’s no mistaking the sensual glamour of Sophia Loren - that unmistakable volume, glossy texture, and smoldering confidence that defined an era of cinema. For Making Hairstory with GenLux, Robert Steinken drew on those same contrasts, styling a modern muse whose waves and lift echo Loren’s timeless sensuality.

To achieve that signature Sophia fullness and shine, Robert prepped the hair with Mousse Air-Turbo Charged Hair Styling Foam for touchable volume and hold. Once curls were set and cooled, he used Root 66 Directional Hair Root Lifting Spray to boost lift at the crown before brushing through. 

“Set the hair with a curling iron and large Velcro rollers,” Robert advises. “Leave it in Velcro until the curls are cool. Then take them out and brush very well.”

“Leave the hair down at the back,” he continues. “Section the two sides, pinning them back but leaving a few pieces around the front hairline. Brush the hair into a wave in the bang area, then backcomb a little at the crown and smooth it all together.”

For the perfect finishing touch, Robert smoothed the ends with Frizz Be Gone Taming Cream, leaving the hair sleek yet full of movement - the very essence of Loren’s screen siren appeal.
