Power & Poise: Jane Fonda-Inspired Lift and Shine

There’s no mistaking the futuristic allure of Jane Fonda in Barbarella - a silver-screen vision of strength, volume, and high-glam sophistication. For Making Hairstory with GenLux, celebrity stylist Robert Steinken brought that signature volume and sculpted shape to life, capturing the confidence and sophistication that made the look unforgettable.

“When GenLux Magazine creative director Stephen Kamifuji approached me about recreating iconic looks through the decades, Jane Fonda’s Barbarella immediately came to mind,” says Robert. “It’s playful and powerful - the perfect blend of structure, shine, and style.”

How to Achieve the Look:
Channel Jane’s iconic lift and 60s-inspired shape with Root 66 Directional Hair Root Lifting Spray, aiming directly at towel dried roots for height. Apply 2chic® Frizz Be Gone™ Taming Cream for silky control, followed by Powder Power Dry Shampoo for added texture and fullness. “Blow dry hair with products as usual,” Robert explains.

“Using a large round brush, take a large curling iron and section hair - curl the top back and the sides down. As soon as you take the hair out of the curling iron, set it into a large Velcro roller and let it cool. Then brush out into a ‘60s style with backcombing at the crown and sides, smoothing it into a polished, vintage-inspired finish.”

Complete the look with a touch of 2chic® Ultra-Moist Super Potion Anti-Frizz & Binding Serum Oil for shine and L.A. Hold Hair Spritz to lock everything in place for that intergalactic level of hold and glamour.
